Who are The Village members?
Older adults who choose to live independent and healthy lives surrounded by their friends, their community and their memories.
They choose to work with volunteers to do things they may need help with and to get to their appointments, grocery shopping and more.
We are ‘neighbors helping neighbors’ in eastern Sussex County.
Why become a member?
To live as independently as possible as you grow older.
To have the freedom to manage your appointments and your schedule.
To be actively engaged in a community of mutual support.
To promote Sussex County as an elder friendly community.
Who is eligible to be a Village member?
Older adults who are able to ambulate under their own power or with the assistance of a cane or walker.
Levels of membership*
Eligible for all services and programs of The Village
$500 for an individual per year
$750 per household per year
We provide individuals up to 25 hours of service per month.
While our fee is annual, for purposes of comparison only, that would be approximately $1.76 per hour.
Includes access to all programs and vendors.
$250/individual or couple.
$200 of the $250 is a considered a charitable contribution
*Subsidized memberships for lower income families are available based upon documented need.
The Village is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) approved organization.
